Problem

It occurs when the user tries to access a website with IE7 when the SSL certificate has been revoked. This message appears:

"There is a problem with this website's security certificate / This organisation's certificate has been revoked."

We recommend that you close this webpage and do not continue to this website.

Cause

  • The certificate validation is by default turned on IE7.It is not on IE 6.The user must manually enable the certificate validation.
  • This organization's certificate has been revoked.
  • Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server.

  • Resolution

Revocation of a certificate cannot be reversed.  To resolve this problem, generate a new certificate signing request (CSR) file and reissue in your MySSL account.  Once the replacement certificate is installed, the message will no longer appear.
